Job Summary:
The SME Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and managing the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) loan portfolio of the bank. This role involves leading a team of loan officers, ensuring the achievement of targets, maintaining a high-quality loan portfolio, and mitigating credit risks effectively.
Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and support SME loan officers in assessing loan applications and determining client eligibility.
Guide and direct the loan officers in meeting monthly and annual production targets.
Provide training, coaching, and guidance to loan officers to enhance their performance and productivity.
Monitor delinquency collection and assist in implementing effective strategies for risk management.
Collaborate with the Credit and Compliance Managers for comprehensive financial analysis and risk assessment.
Conduct thorough business verifications, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
Evaluate loan collaterals, ensuring their validity and appropriate valuation.
Ensure timely response to customer inquiries and maintain a high standard of customer service.
Conduct regular Loan Utilization Monitoring (LUM) for disbursed loans.
Verification of Credit Applications:
Conduct comprehensive risk identification and verification of credit applications.
Validate the authenticity of title deeds and review loan contracts and documents.
Follow up on actions proposed by the delinquency committee for delinquent customers.
Review and verify loan agreements before the disbursement process.
Target Achievement:
Ensure the team achieves monthly and annual SME disbursement and outstanding targets.
Allocate loan requests to officers based on the geographical location of clients.
Prepare pre-credit committee screenings and recommendations for SME Credit Manager/Credit Committee.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Achievement of monthly and annual SME disbursement and outstanding targets.
Reduction of Portfolio at Risk (PAR) rate in the SME portfolio.
Implementation of effective risk mitigation strategies.
Sound decision-making during credit file verifications.
Identification and prevention of potential frauds, especially pre-disbursement.
Job Requirements:
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields. A higher degree is preferred.
Completion of a formal credit analysis-training program is advantageous.
Strong communication skills in English and the local language.
Proficiency in relevant computer applications and software.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in coaching and mentoring.
Sound knowledge of accounting principles and fraud prevention techniques.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Integrity, problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to foster teamwork.
