Job Summary:
The ORCD is seeking 15 motivated Construction Engineers for its projects in the Kunduz province of Afghanistan. Eligible applicants are invited to carefully review the details and apply.
Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities:
The engineers’ responsibilities include:
Providing general technical assistance for ORCD construction projects, from planning to implementation and monitoring.
Ensuring effective implementation, monitoring, and development of observation tools.
Ensuring quality control systems are implemented and that contractors and engineering consultancy firms adhere to technical specifications and ORCD standards.
Evaluating the performance of service providers.
Ensuring precise and timely preparation of technical inputs and cost estimations for construction components within project proposals and budgets.
Supporting the Supply unit in tender exercises for the procurement of construction and consultancy services.
Taking overall responsibility for resource management and improvement.
Identifying and managing risks, taking corrective action when necessary for the benefit of clients and stakeholders.
Producing interim and final project reports and maintaining related project records.
Managing project spending, cash flow, and obligations to ensure timely payments to contractors and personnel.
Coordinating required activities with Operations and programs, ensuring timely actions from both ORCD and government.
Qualifications:
Afghan national
Graduated from a related Engineering faculty at a recognized Higher Education institution.
Proficiency in Pashto, Dari, and preferably English.
Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, and Outlook.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
2-3 years of relevant experience.
Willingness to travel to project sites.
